Procrastination...

I am sitting here in my scraproom looking around and I see so many unfinished projects. There is this one project that stands out. For Christmas (2007) my daughter made me a Journal Jar and a pretty little notebook titled "Pieces of Me". I've yet to start this, shame on me :( she took the time to make it for me and I should have it completed by now. I plan on starting this at the beginning of next year, which is just a few days away. I also plan on finishing up all the other projects I have laying around partially completed. I need to add pictures to some, embellishments to some, journaling to some, you get the idea. Some I may even toss out or redo, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it! And if you've ever struggled with journaling and know of a good source, please share!

A Holiday Dance For You...

Send your own ElfYourself eCards

This Is What Christmas Is All About...

"And there were shepherds, abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And the Angel of the Lord came upon them and said, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring you tidings of great joy. For unto you is born this day a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.' And there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly hosts praising God and saying 'Glory to God; peace on Earth, good will to men.'

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Gift Exchange 08...

This was actually the day before, we got together to make our goodies. I had to have this picture because I told my dear husband that I was going to make them do this. Aren't we cute?

Summer said the other two girls and I should get our picture like this also. The one in the red doesn't look all that thrilled. Wonder why?

Here we are holding our little snow bottle people. We did these together this year, I will be cleaning up glitter for many moons. Again I saw these over at Two Peas and my daughter has a magazine with them in it. I can't remember the name of it.

And here are the snow bottle people. The second and third from the left are my daughters, she has given them some unusual names. The second one is Peace Pimp and the third one is Snow Ho. I can't remember all their names. Mine is the tall one, his name is quite simply Mr. Winter.

A Card and Some Popcorn...

Here's the little gift I made for our Annual Gift Exchange. I saw this card & tag over at Two Peas. Yeah-I used up a few scraps ( I have way to many of them) and that peanut butter, white chocolate popcorn with M&M's is quite tasty. Luckily I bagged it all up to give away. I've definately been eating way too much lately.

A Few Of My Favorite Things...

My ever so Perfect Charlie Brown Tree.

I've seen pictures like these on other blogs. Again I'm no photographer but I thought the idea was neat.

And My Perfect Little Puppy-He's really a Dog now but don't tell him.

Busy, Busy...

This weekend I got all the groceries picked up for Christmas Day and I finally got the cookies baked, six different kinds. I've been searching forever for a good rolled sugar cookie recipe and I have finally found one. I never try the recipes on the back of flour bags, etc. but I guess I shoud as this is where I found the rolled sugar cookie recipe. If you have a good one, please share. And if you like coconut macaroons, my daughter has found a very good recipe for these. I could eat all of them but I'd better not with all the snacking lately I've put on two extra pounds. Hopefully that Wii Fit will help with this.
I also managed to get over half of the presents wrapped today. We will be delivering them on Tuesday so I had to get a move on. Now just to get the other half wrapped and ready for Thursday.
And can I just say "I LOVE MY KIDS" and THEIR FAMILIES they are the best!

Wiiiiii...

I told my husband before Thanksgiving that I'd like to have the Wii and the Wii Fit for Christmas and that he should get it soon. He told me if I was out and seen it to go ahead and pick it up. I found the Wii right after Thanksgiving but no Wii Fit to be had anywhere. I've had half the family searching for this thing. Well just yesterday my daughter and I went to the ever famous Target, I told my daughter I was going to check to see if they had the Wii Fit. I was pretty sure I was gonna strike out again, not one Wii Fit on the shelf so I started to walk away and a store clerk says to me "May I help you"? I told her I was just checking to see if you had any Wii Fits in, so she scanned the tag and to my surprise they had 16 of them in the back. I waited about 15 minutes for them to bring them up front, made my purchase and left the store. My search is over and I cannot wait until Christmas Day to try it out. I've heard they are alot of fun and not as easy as one might think. I'll let you all know soon.

Our Annual Gift Exchange...

is today. No major crafting this year, I just ran out of time. So this year it's a handmade card, tag and a bag of some peanutbutter, white chocolate popcorn with MM's. We will be having a taco bar for eats, some sweets and drinks and we will also be crafting something special together. I can't wait to see how these little pretties work out, they are just too cute. Well I'd better get ready as company will be arriving soon.

Have a Great Weekend!

Uggggh...

Such crappy weather today. I had to take the Deuce to the groomer today in the pouring rain at 7 this morning and have been freezing ever since.
As you can see I've lost focus again, I'd like to call it mojo but I don't think I've really ever had that, I think my OCD gets in the way. I do plan on getting back to my little challenge but as you all know things are a little hectic with the Holidays and all. I still have shopping to do, a gift exchange on Saturday with the girls, presents to wrap, cookies to bake, etc... I did however get my scrap room straightened over the weekend *thanks DIL* for all the help.
My perfect little tree has arrived *grin*. My little Deuce it all purtied up for the Holidays which won't actually last until the Holiday arrives being he's all white and the weather is crappy. I snapped a few picture of him and the tree today. I plan on posting them soon.
I hope you all are enjoying this busy month and getting everything checked off your list.

Have A Great Day!

No PAWC...

I am working on something, I just don't see it getting completed today. The last two day were very busy and now I'm just plain tired. I'm actually sitting in my scraproom at this moment but not making any progress. I may try again a little later today.
My sister informed me on Wednesday that Cord Camera closed their scrapbook studio down. Earlier today, I went to Archivers and found out that another scrap store in our area closed. I am really shocked by this, as that was one good store. This leaves us with Archivers, Michaels, JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby. My daughter and I do occasionaly buy online so we always have that option too! I told my husband about this and he said "It's just like anything else, people are probably getting tired of it." What? I don't think so! Do you?

Enjoy Your Weekend!

Sip, Sip...

My friend also had some spiced tea at her UCL party. The recipe makes quite a bit so I'm going to make myself half a recipe or maybe the full recipe and share. It has a strong oraney/clovey (not real words, I know) flavor but is very good. I used two tablespoons in a regular sized coffee mug but I think you can adjust it to you liking by adding more/less.

M's Spiced Tea
1/2 C. Instant Tea
8 oz Jar of Tang
10 oz Pkg. Lemonade Mix
1 t. clove
1 t. cinnamon
1 C. sugar

Mix above together and store in airtight container.
This would make nice jar gifts with a pretty little tag.

Enjoy!

Happy Dipping...

Here's my friends recipe I mentioned in my last post. Easy and Yummi, I love recipes like this! I've got this one saved for a mini recipe book I plan on scrapping!

M's Pumpkin Dip

2-8oz. Pkgs. Cream Cheese
1-16oz. can of Pumpkin
2C. Powdered Sugar
1 t. Cinnamon
1 t. Nutmeg
1 t. Ginger

Mix all ingredients in blender. Put into serving/dipping container. Refridgerate at least 2 hours or overnight. Serve with gingersnap cookies for dipping. I guess any plain cookie you choose will work but it's quite yummi with the gingersnaps.

Enjoy-Happy Dipping!

Uppercase Living...

Now I know what the hype is all about, I love this stuff. Luckily I have a week to decide what I'd like to purchase. I love the frame with the 4 acrylic inserts. The make-n-takes were nice, a tile with the word BELIEVE, ribbon, some bling if you'd like and a coaster which I will be using for my husbands Christmas gift tag. My friend that hosted the party made the best pumpkin dip, you dip gingersnap cookies in it and oh is it ever so yummi :p. I'll post the recipe later, if you like pumpkin you'll love it. Well, it's off to the grocery for me.

Enjoy Your Day!

I Love Weekends...

I just wish they were longer, seems like they fly by so fast. We watched another movie last night (Get Smart), honestly I slept off and on thru it so I'm not sure if it's a good one. I'm getting my list for Thanksgiving together today and it's off to the grocery tomorrow morning. This afternoon I'm going to an Uppercase Living Party. I may purchase a few things for my scraproom but I want to see what the hype is all about first. We will be doing a make-n-take, sounds fun, we'll see. I also need to think about Christmas shopping, better start another list. Other than that I plan on being as lazy as possible for the remainder of the weekend!

Have A Great One!

PAWC #2...

Here's my page for this week, my Grandson didn't even see part of the Air Show because he was so interested in playing with that little wooden plane. I always feel like I've stopped a little short of finishing but I like simple pages, this is how I scrap! I did however use a sheet of patterned paper for the background this time, trying to use up some goodies. I scanned this page so you can't tell that the star on there has glitter and the words are clear but they look wonky here. I may try to photograph it later to see if I can get a better picture. If you click on the page you can get a better view but it will be large, I don't normally reduce pictures for my blog and on this one when I reduced it to a web page it was worse than what you see here. However, I'm no photographer either!

Wowzers-7 Movies In 2 Weeks...

I'm not one for going out to the movies, I just can't sit still that long. When I do watch movies, which isn't that often I perfer watching them at home in my jammies. This way I can move around all I want and not disturb anyone. In the last couple of weeks my husband & I have watched seven movies at home. This is rare as we are usually on opposite ends of the house, him watching news and me playing in my scraproom.

My ratings below: LOL!

Into the Blue-Started out slow but was O.K. I'd give this a 5
No Country for Old Men-Love This-Awesome Movie! Definate 10
National Treasury-Very Good. This one gets an 8
Indiana Jones/The Crystal Skull-O.K. About a 6
Charlie Browns Thanksgiving-All Charlie Brown movies are just PERFECT! Love Them! Definate 10-Go ahead laugh!
The Bucket List- My Favorite of the Seven! Definately A Big 10-I've already started my Bucket List! I will be purchasing this movie!
The Comebacks-Stupid but I did laugh a little-A little 3

I strongly suggest No Country for Old Men, The Bucket List and of course Charlie Browns Thanksgiving!

Happy Birthday Babycakes...

Today is our Grandson's Birthday. If you stop by wish him a Happy one!
We had a little party for him over the weekend. He picked out his own cake, told his Daddy he was going to get one with flowers but picked Transformers when they got to the store :)

Happy Birthday AM! We Love You!

The Electric Guitar-He Loves It-Have you ever heard an almost six year old, left handed boy playing a right handed electric guitar (upside down) singing "You Are My Sunshine" ? I have and it's the SWEETEST song I've ever heard! I've got to be the LUCKIEST NANA in the WORLD :)!

For The Last Three Days...

I've had this headache that I can't seem to get totally rid of. Not sure if it's the change in the weather, some really bad eating habits, tiredness or what. I started working on a page for my PAWC last night and was planning on completing it tonight but not unless this headache lets up soon. I do have the rest of the week to work on it and will get it completed. I need to use up some scrap goodies and pictures before I purchase any more. I am also doing the NABLOPOMO, why? heck that's a challenge all in itself!
Tomorrow is a very special day and I will have a sweet little post for all to see. See Ya!

Four Generations...

My Mother was in town for a visit and this was the first time she had seen her new Great Granddaughter. A perfect time to get a picture or two.

I don't know about my Son looking over the top of his glasses, I think he likes getting his picture taken about as much as I do. My Grandson, well he's just plain tired of getting his picture taken.

Gift Exchange...

It must go on and it will. My husband told me I should just cancel. I WILL NOT! We did this for quite a few years and the drama just got to be too much, so I decided I was done! I let it go for a few years and decided that maybe we could all get along and decided to give it another go. Last year was or first year back at it and it went great. This year four of us decided that my nephews wife was welcome to join in, today I told my sister and all HELL broke loose, yes they have problems ,who doesn't? First she unloaded on me, than on my other sister and again on me. Her and her daughter will not be joining us for the gift exchange this year and they will be missed, but it is their choice not to come and I'm not going to get caught up in their family feud.
I hope that someday they can find a way to get along because they are all missing out on alot of good memories.
And yes, this all happened at my Grandsons Birthday Party today!

TGIF...

I'm posting early as I may not get another chance today. I have a busy little weekend planned. After work I'm picking up my Grandson for a little Birthday shopping and we will be having a sleep over tonight. He ask if we could go to the bookstore to shop for his Birthday because he loves Dr Seuss books and is trying to collect as many as possible. We will also be stopping by Toys-R-Us to purchase him a guitar and an amp. He wants three amps but I think one will do for now. He has decided that he wants to START A BAND and he's already picked out instruments for everyone to play. On Saturday we are having cake and ice cream and on Sunday I'll be catching up on my chores and getting to work on my next PAWC.

So far I'm keeping up with the NABLOPOMO but let me tell you it isn't that easy. How do all you people find that much to talk about?

Have A Great Weekend

PAWC #1...

A few post back I talked about challenging myself to do a page a week. I'm a simple scrapper so this should be pretty easy. Here is my first page, the one that has been laying on my desk for a month now unassembled. Ahkiok passed away 4 days after our annual Zoo visit. I posted about this back in June. This picture of him laying on the falls totally relaxed is one of my favorites.

Scrapbooking...

It's been way to long since I've scrapbooked a page. I have tons of pictures I'd love to scrap but I keep finding other things to do. Halloween treats, punch classes, shopping and etc. I also have tons of scrapping supplies to work with but as you all know those manufacturers come out with new scrapping supplies so fast I can't keep up. I've decided to challenge myself to do one page a week starting this week. I know that's not much but hey it's more than I've been doing. I've had a simple page laying on my desk for at least a month. Surely I can get it done this week. Cross your fingers for me. LOL! I found this real neat site today but I can't get the link to work. I'll try again tomorrow. It's all about color combos and I think you will love it! Keep watch! I'll be adding pages soon!

A Day With Family...

Heading out to a big Family gathering today. I've got my share of the food ready and my camera charged. My mom is in town for awhile and there are two great grandchildren that she has not seen yet. There will be four generations there today so this will make for some good pictures to scrap later. We are also going to have a small surprise for my sister who retired recently. Cake, cards and a gift or two. I let everyone know that since the gathering is at her house that it would be the perfect time to surprise her and I'm pretty sure she doesn't expect anything.
On my way to pick up a cake. Have a great day!

Precious Moments...

Our visit with J went well last night. Pawpaw was right there to help out even though I didn't need it. She's a little over 2 months old and this is the first time he has held her. He walked her around his race room to show her all his racing goodies, talked to her and rocked her in the rocky roll recliner. I did hear him tell her this "Pawpaw knows all about babies and people just don't know that about me". Of course I did have to get a picture or two beacuse moments like these are rare and I adore them!

Today I'm headed to Archiver's with my sister and DIL for make n takes! Later to a Lia Sophia party with my daughter!

Have A Great Weekend!

My Horoscope For Today...

November 07, 2008
Cancer (6/22-7/22)
Don't be surprised if, in the middle of a conversation, your mind starts to wander, today. At first, you might wonder why you can't follow this person's line of thinking. But then you'll just realize that they are just a boring person! Few people are as charming as you are, especially right now. You are in a phase where your personality is very strong and you need an equal match to stay engaged. Seek out people who are larger than life -- they will keep you fascinated and keep you talking.

Wow-two posts in one day!

I Got Shot...

Yep-Flu shot in the left arm, Tetanus in the right. I went to the Dr. yesterday to have a mole removed from my back and left there with two sore arms. I don't think I'm a sissy but my arms are really sore. The right more than the left. Actually this isn't that important at all but I'm trying the NaBloPoMo and I needed something to talk about today. It's day seven and I've kept up so far-Yeah for me :)

Good News-Tonight I get to visit with my Granddaughter for a few hours. I love having her all to myself. I might even snap a few pictures of her for sharing.

CTMH or SU! ?...

Last night my sister and I attended a CTMH party. Neither of us had ever been to one or purchased any CTMH products. The consultant walked us thru the catalog, passed around some items she had made and we made a card. I own a small boat load of SU stamps and I've got to tell you I wish I would have seen CTMH stamps first. Love how they stamp, how they are packaged and those little storage boxes they sell. I'm not that much of a stamper but it is nice to be able to see where you are placing the stamp and it's just not that easy with the SU stamps. No, I'm not going to ditch all my SU stamps but I do need to take my Stamp-a-ma-jig out of the box and practice. I've seen it used in a few tutorials and it works great and I've also seen tons of you out there that make amazing projects using SU stamps. On the other hand I did not like any of CTMH patterned papers and I have enough cardstock, ribbon and embellishments to last a lifetime. I did purchase a couple of sets of stamps, one alpha and the stamp of the month and I also purchased a few of the 6 x6 paper/stamps organizers.
And can you believe I won the doorprize, this never happens!

Love This...

Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,
So love the people who treat you right,
Forget about about the ones who don't,
And remember that everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance,
Take it.
If it changes your life,
Let it.
Nobody said it would be easy,
They just promised it would be worth it.

My daughter was checking out her google reader today and this was on one of the blogs she reads. As I get older I look a things alot differently as I'm sure we all do with age. I was just talking to my daughter about this on Monday. I think this quote pretty much says it all. I just Love It! I hope others will also!

Grandparents Day 08...

We have now attended our first Kindergarten Grandparents Day. There were cookies and juice for all. The kids and their music teacher sang a few songs (very cute) and the kids along with the principle recited a few rhymes. We visited our GS classroom, talked to his teacher and had a scavenger hunt throughout the school. He was so excited to show his Pawpaw around. Once we finished the scavenger hunt we visited the book fair and purchased him a few books. On the way home we made a quick stop by Steak N Shake for a milkshake ;p

AM we are so proud of you and love you very much!

The cute little card he made for us!

Mmmmm...

Had my first cup yesterday! Never did aquire the taste for coffee but this Hot Caramel Apple Cider with whipped cream is to die for. Love It! Off to my GS school for Grandparents Day!

Finally...

Last evening I got to spend a few hours with my 2 Month Old Granddaughter. I wanted to hold her the whole time but I resisted. We talked, sang, played with her toys, walked around, had bath time, feeding time and bed time. She is such a good baby. Only whimpered when hungry. She has the sweetest little smile, make the cutiest little sounds and has that perfect little baby smell. I titled this post Finally because since the day she was born I've been bugging Mom & Dad to let me babysit her and they Finally did! Now that wasn't so hard was it? Thanks Guys :)

Sweet Treats...

A few post back I talked about a class I signed up for called Sweet Treats. There were 16 different projects to choose from and although I purchased goodies to make them all I only got around to making a few. The Monster Munch (not pictured below) was gobbled up by my GS and I while watching "It's A Great Pumpkin." Charlie Brown. Mmmmm it is ever so good. I will be making some more of this to share at work tomorrow.

Popcorn Ball Scarecrow! Cute and quite Yummi!

Transparent Box-Marshmellow Ghosts inside. I made this for my Daughter. She ate all the ghosts right away. She loves those peeps things but only when stale!

Halloween Treats...

I made for the Grandkids. I usually just buy something but I thought these were cute and that the Grandkids would enjoy them.

These were found here. They hold the snack size Hersheys or KitKat bars.

These little monster boxes were also found here. She has several tutorials and if you fumble around trying to attach the little brads to projects you need to check out her Chic Stand. It's absolutely wonderful. I can now attach brads like a pro :)

I attended a SU! punch class a couple of months ago and another one last week. I am amazed at the things you can do with punches. Where have I been? We made the spider with the scallop and photo corner punch. I've seen the Peppermint Patties between two scallops on other sites. I just put the two together.

Zoo-Boo 08...

Yeah---We all got together sooner than I thought we could for a little Fall fun. We visited the Zoo for Zoo-Boo. Great weather (it actually got a little too warm) and great fun. Lots to see and do for all. Decorations, a few different characters, trick or treating, pumpkin smashing by the Elephants and pumpkin bowling just to name a few. I did notice that the animals were alot more active than in May when we do our annual Zoo visit. I guess they like the Fall better too!

Little JMad (her celebrity name) as per Mommy. She slept thur it all!

JMad's Bat Mommy-She loves to have fun and be silly!

AM and the By the Sea display. My Favorite display! Love the water animals!

The seals were so playful. Here's the trio doing a little singing!

Pumpkin smashing by the Elephants! Did you know they eat pumpkin? I didn't!

AM doing a little pumpkin bowling. Yes! It's a STRIKE! As you can see I'm no photographer when it comes to action shots! Any suggestions?

Pumpkin Patch,Sickies and A New Baby 08...

A little slow posting these pictures from the patch as I've been fighting sinusitis for what seems like forever. We were short a few this year. Dh was sick (wonder where he got that from). My daughter and sil have a new baby (to young to go). I'm hoping that next year we'll all be able to go together. The weather was great, we had a good time but I still missed the others being there. They did have a little more the the kids to do this year which was good for the Grandson. I think he enjoyed the day which consisted of hayrides, cornmazes, bounce houses and of course the Pumpkin Patch.

My GS & I in the little pumpkin shell! Man was it HOT in there-like an oven!

My GS, Son & DIL-Silly aren't they?

Dega Pictures 08...

Race morning at the track. The sun seemed to be rising right at the entrance to the track . Isn't it just beautiful?

My favorite part just before the race begins is when the JETS fly over. LOVE them! I get chills each and every time. I am never fast enough to get all of them in one picture but I thought this was a pretty neat picture. The JET, mountains, score tower and the Talladega logo. (Click on the picture for a better view). Our guy (Jeff Gordon #24) didn't do so great this race (wreck first and then a blown motor) but at least he's still in the Chase.

Irish Fest 08...

My husband and I have been going to this event for a few years now. The husband likes a beer now and then but I'm not much of a beer or whiskey drinker, which seems to be a big part of Irish Fest but we love to listen to the bag pipes, the bands and watch the dancers. This year we got to see the bagpipes and a couple of the bands but we didn't get to see the actual Irish dancers. One of the bands did do a little dancing. We could watch them dance for hours. The bottom half of their bodies move like crazy while the top half doesn't seem to move much at all. If you've never watched Irish dancers and get a chance to see them. Do it! It's amazing.! Oh and if by any chance there is Irish Bread Pudding on the menu Try It! Yummi!

Stadium Concert Pictures 08...

First let me say... I WILL NEVER ATTEND A STADIUM CONCERT AGAIN. The first (4) acts Brother Trouble, Luke Bryan, Gary Allan and Leann Rimes totally sucked. The sound was terrible (is there a word worse than terrible?) if there is it was that. The roof was closed right up until Keith Urban came on. They opened the roof and OH MY things got alot better. Keith Urban was absolutely wonderful. Our Grandson found a girl (older girl I might add) and had himself a blast. They were dancing in the aisle, singing and playing their air guitars. He kept asking me if this was the last song or not? He was so worried that Keith Urban might not play his favorite songs (which by the way is about all of them). Takes this after his Nana. He loves the music, I love the whole package. IYKWIM! Now I could go on and on about the Great Keith Urban but I won't this time. Kenny Chesney also put on a good show. He has a real neat set up (sand pit, stage, lights etc.) I'd say Keith Urban is more about the music and Kenny Chesney is more about the show. Let me recant my first statement. If Keith Urban is there I will consider going. I think if our seats would have been close to the stage things would have been better. We were on the floor but 37 rows back from the stage. All in all we did have a good time. Our Grandson was worn out by about 11:00 PM so we left a little early. We missed KC and KU singing the last song together. Darn It!

Guess Who?

Air Guitars!

Loved this! KC light show!

Kenny Chesney!
