Kissing Ball...
It's finished and I love how is turned out. I hope to make a couple more in cream or white before Valentine's Day. Once you get the hang of making the roses they go really quick. One very important thing I learned while making these little roses. DO NOT roll up to tight. If you do they look terrible. No example to share as I tossed the bad ones. Also the lighting in my house is terrible so please excuse the coloring in the collage. A couple of the photos were taken at night with inside lights, the others were taken by a window in the sunlight...YES I said sunlight! : ) Unfortunately, it looks like we have more snow, ice and rain headed our way so it will probably be a few days before we see it again. I'd better go enjoy it for while I can.

52-4...
The sun decided to come out for a bit over the weekend so I rushed out to shoot my photo for this weeks prompt. Oh how I miss the sun...Every year, mid January it hits me. These winter blues have really got me down and I can't seem to shake them. I heard on the radio today that it's only 53 more days until Spring. I'm hoping it arrives early. I cannot wait!!!

Decisions...decisions...
I've been looking around for quite awhile for some new lamps for my living room. I found these lamps some time ago and they match a chandelier I have in my dining room. Now I know that my living room and my dining room to not have to match. I'm just saying that because I like my chandelier alot. It's simple and plain...just like me. Yesterday I received an email from here showing me these lamps and while I like them alot I'm not sure they will go with my decor...if that's what you want to call it. I'm telling you I always have the hardest time making a decision on things for the house.

Winter Blues and 52-3...
Blah...Winter...Hurry up Spring. It been all dreay out around here for awhile now and once I get home from work I don't want to go back out into the cold so my photo for this week is an indoor photo. I've been trying to do something crafty once a week after work. This week I'm working on making a kissing ball. It took me a few times to get that little rose looking right and then my dear husband told me it looked like a cinnamon roll. Whatever...I think they look like little roses. What do you think?

52 Photos...
Notice the new green gadget on my sidebar...52 photos. I ran across this while blog surfing and thought it would be fun to play along but for me it's only going to be 51 as I missed the first prompt which was to take a photo on Jan 1, 2011 at 8:11 pm.
Prompt #2: Independence. My husbands retirement balloons.

Four New Things...
It all started with this back in 2009. My Granddaughter was turning one and my daughter (Charlie) was planning a Horton birthday party for her. She was going to make cupcakes for a cupcake tree (the new birthday cake) and she wanted to put a little Horton figure on the top cupcake. She made a little Horton figure with fondant for the top, her first go round with fondant and it turned out great. Since that time she's made Mickey Mouse, Yo Gabba Gabba and a few other fondant figures that slip my mind right now. Not surprised by that are you...my one little word for this year is "Focus". : )
Anyway, back to the title of this post. After making the fondant Horton my daughter decided that she would challenge herself to do/try/learn FOUR new things each year. She had just completed one of the four and was off and running..I'm not exactly sure what the other three things were in 2009 but I'm sure she did them. In 2010 she also completed her challenge of FOUR new things. One was taking a biplane ride, another was learning to crochet and once again I'm unsure of the other two. After talking to her about this challenge I realized that in 2010 I had also met the challenge of FOUR new things ( this, this, this, and this). I also did this for the first time and there is probably a couple of other things but you get the point I did atleast FOUR new things in 2010! : ) This year I will be taking on the challenge of FOUR new things again and I challenge you to do the same. And trust me when I say it isn't hard at all, I did it in 2010 and didn't even realize it until I talked with her about it. Let me know if you play along, I'd love to see your FOUR new things and check back once in awhile to see mine if you'd like.
Enjoy,
SUSI

Bye Bye 2010...
Hello 2011 and a Happy New Year to you all! I hope you all had a nice safe night and enjoyed yourselves while celebrating. The husband and I were in bed early, so no celebrating here.
No New Years resoultions here either but I have decided on my one little word for the year. After much thought on the subject I've decided on the word "FOCUS" something I seem to struggle with alot these days. I find that I start things out with a bang and sizzle out before they are barely completed. My mind is all over the place and it seems that I've developed a very bad habit of not completing things, be it on line classes, scrapbooking, exercise, eating healthier...yadda, yadda, yadda! You get the picture right...I need to "FOCUS" and I plan to work hard on doing so this year. So wish me LUCK...I'm gonna need it.
