Especially all the colors it produces in the fall.

Deuce's Little Squirrel Friend...

This little squirrel has been coming around for a few years now. At least we think its the same squirrel. It teases our dog on a daily basis. Deuce will stand at the bottom of the trees looking up for long periods of time just watching and waiting for the squirrel to come down but of course that never happens. Sooner or later Deuce gets tired of waiting and comes inside to rest. The other day I noticed that a couple of trees by the pond were stripped bare. The bark was missing from them. So I started looking around and noticed the little squirrel with a mouth full and I mean FULL of bark trying to make it up the tree. I didn't have my camera with me at the time so no picture but I did locate the nest in the tree and got a couple of pictures today. Its quite big and our little squirrel friend doesn't seem to be finished yet. The squirrel was up there scurrying around again today. I've never seen a squirrel quite this aggressive. I hope the squirrel and Deuce never come face to face as it would not be a pretty site. I'm pretty sure the squirrel would win if they tangled because Deuce is just a big ol' baby. Take a look at the trees, have you ever seen a squirrel do this? If you take a close look at the last two pictures you can see a little blur of the squirrel right below the nest.

Lightening Strikes...

Sometime last week we had quite the storm...The wind blew hard, it rained hard, lots of thunder and lightening and it looked as if our whole front yard lit up. The TV went off for a split second and came right back on. I didn't think much about it at the time but my husband noticed that our bedroom clock (a Smart Clock) had quit working. I then noticed that our phone wasn't working either. Anyway we got them straightened out the next day. A couple of days later my husband came in from moving the lawn and said something has stripped a bunch of bark off the tree in the front yard. I looked at him and said I'll bet it got hit by lightening during the storm the other night..he agreed. This tree is right outside our front bedroom window which would explain why the clock and phone stopped working. Here's a picture...

Incredible Hawk...

This Hawk was hanging our in the tree we were sitting under while we were at football practice. He won! We moved out from under the tree so he could get what he was after, which I won't go into here. Love looking at them though, they are beautiful birds!

Strange Sighting...

We have a planter that sits on a table on our front porch. The husband moved the planter down by our flower bed to water it so as not to spray water on my freshly washed windows. He knows how I don't like that. LOL! A couple of days later he went to move the planter back to the table and there was a goose egg in the center of the plant. The egg was in perfect shape, no cracks or anything. We have no idea how it got there. If you have any ideas,I'd love to hear them.

Things Are Lookin Up...

Thank God! Last week was a nail bitting, junk food eating, no exercising, weight gaining, sitting around TV watching kind of week. Why? you ask. Just life! Sometimes things get to me more than other times and it just so happened to be last week. Now, my dear daughter thinks that Dr. Phil has the answer to my somewhat depressing mood last week. HORMONE IMBALANCE-I think that's what she said to me. I don't think so, but who knows? Anyway I'm all better now and I've been out taking a few pictures of Spring! These were all from my back yard! Enjoy!

This goose has been sitting here for about about 2 weeks. Babies soon. Have you ever seen baby Geese? They are so ugly that they are cute!
