A Hour with Keith and Lance...

We picked up the treadmill today, brought it home, put it together and then the magic happened...I plugged in the Ipod, turned on Keith Urban...oh how I wish...LOL, jumped on Lance although he's really not my type and went for an hour long walk. Oh...and I have pictures to prove it...SEE!
Tomorrow morning I plan to weigh myself and take measurements. I WILL be starting an exercise routine tomorrow evening and I PROMISE that this time I'm sticking with it. One hour on the treadmill and weights for toning to start. Looks like Keith, Lance and I are going to be spending alot of time together in the coming months. I hope they can keep up. HA! I'll post my results from time to time...stay tuned!

Tomatoes, A Little Scare, Bigger and Exercise...

I can't even believe how well my tomato plants are doing. I have lots of little green tomatoes growing and each day I get to harvest a few.  I've been using them in salad  that is when I can get to them before the husband. I even hid them once and he found them. But I dont' blame him as they are quite tasty. Arent' they pretty?

I've been a little lazy about editing my pictures again /still but I do have alot to share. My Grandaughter had a Circus Birthday Party last weekend. Clown...magic, balloon animals, face painting, pony rides, cupcakes that looked like popcorn and all sorts of candies. She was so excited about it all. I can't wait to share a few pictures...edit...edit...edit. I really need to get busy on this...but I'm afraid to see just how far behind I really am. I sure could use some help  : )
Today my sister and I went shopping for some fabric for the laptop cover I plan to sew but I couldn't find any fabric that I really liked and if I'm going to sew something (since I don't sew) I want it to be something I really LOVE! Better luck next time..I hope! I did buy a couple of  fabrics but it's for a couple of other projects I plan to sew and I will share when they are completed. We also visited Michaels craft store while we were out and look what we found.

It's not the best picture but it was hanging on the ledge and when I started to take the picture it started to fly right at me. Well, I gathered my sister and my items and headed for the check out line. I'm outta here.
And this may be TMI but I just found out that after wearing the same bra size for alot of years that its not my size at all. I purchased three new bras today in the new size they measured me at and after getting them home and trying them on I have to return one of them tomorrow for a bigger size. I told my husband that I believe that they are making bras smaller so that us women will believe we are bigger than we are and jeans bigger so that we will believe we are smaller than we are. IYKWIM.  I remember when I could go to a store, buy the size I wore, take it home an it would fit me fine. I really dislike having to try on each and every item before I can take it home.
Oh and just a bit ago the husband and I ran the mall to purchase a treadmill. We pick it up tomorrow. YEAH.
Gotta go...

My Style...

Today I took a little quiz over at Sproost to find out my favorite decorating style.

Here are the results:

67% Cottage Chic
17% Traditional Country
16% Southwestern Style

Cottage Chic

Who says that cottages can't be modern and chic? Who says that they have to be floral and cheesy? Not you! You love the carefree spirit that the cottage interior inspires, but you are also serious about your appreciation for modern art and hip treasures. You love old and new alike, and love to highlight them all to expose the uniqueness of each. What better way to show off these treasures than with a light background?

Materials
You have a great sense of humor when it comes to design and even like to make fun of the style itself. Which means that you will throw in a toy boat or a vintage life preserver to keep the mood of the place just like the color: light! The fabrics are natural (cottons and linens) and are light in touch. Much of the furniture is wood or wood framed (the lighter the better, think driftwood!) and as long as it's used sparingly or with modern lines, you even throw in a wicker piece here and there.

Colors

Your true inspiration (whether you know it or not) is the sea... the colors found at your favorite beach: white and light beige of the sand, a variety of blues for the ocean and sky, and greens and pale grays of the sea glass... but the key is white! Your space should feel light and airy and give off the mood one has when at the beach: laid back! The key with Cottage Chic is balance; in one corner there could be a rustic wood table that looks like it could have been found rather than made, but it is offset with a modern vase while another corner is adorned with a modern Lucite piece.

Space Planning

The furniture is comfortable and the layout is cozy. The more it encourages intimate gatherings the better! Just watch out for the red wine spills on the new white sofa! The color throughout is light and airy - and though you love to accessorize with fun colors (the sky's the limit with a white background), the main color seen and felt throughout the house is white or very light versions of colors so that they feel almost white.

I think they are right on with this...love this style! It may just be time to redo a few things around the house.

Looks like I may be pulling out the sewing machine again. I love this. I'm thinking blues and greens for me.

Inspirations...

Just last week I talked about posting things that inspire or interest me here on the blog. I ran across a little tutorial here that I thought was cute. I really had no plans to make one at the time but as I was walking through Michaels last weekend I noticed that they had some tank shirts on clearance for $2.99 so I purchased one. I also noticed while in JoAnn's on the same day that material was 30 percent off. So for $3.49 I purchased a yard. I do not sew and really have no desire to but I thought why not try something new. So for the first part of the week I worked on this and just today I had my daughter-in- law snap a few pictures of me wearing it. So without further ado...here it is...total cost with tax $6.93!

Traditions...

My Grandson will be in grade 2 this year. When he started kindergarten we started a tradition of back to school shopping. Just the two of us. Today I took a day off from work and we carried on our tradition. First we toss in our pennies and make our wishes in the fountain outside the mall. Next we have lunch at the CheeseCake Factory (since the servings are a bit large we share an entree and a piece of cheesecake..His choice.) We had tomato basil pasta and pineapple upside down cheesecake today. Once we have our bellies full we shop for school clothes, shoes etc. at the mall. I'm not sure who enjoys this more..he or I. In a few years I hope to carry this tradition on with my Granddaughter. Girly shopping...can't wait.  : )
