Moving Up...

To a better camera, I hope! It's still a point and shoot but my Sony Cybershot seemed to be taking lots of blurry pictures (maybe it was me) who knows? Not sure I'm ready to move up to an SLR yet. I've charged the battery, set up a bit of it, skimmed the instruction booklet (there's alot of stuff in there), played with it a little and am ready to try it out at the ZOO tomorrow. My little "techie " daughter will be there also, she'll figure this thing out in a heartbeat (even without the instruction booklet). So be prepared for lots of pictures.

The Koalas Are Here...

Our Annual Zoo Trip was planned last Friday, instead we decided to wait a week so that we could see the Queensland Koalas. Aren't they adorable? They say that the Koalas sleep like 18 hours a day. They have feeding times twice a day, once at 10 AM and again at 3PM. We are planning to get there early, hoping that the crowd will be smaller so that we can get a good look at the Adorable Duo. I have added a clip from the Zoo website that tells a little about them.









An adorable duo will be the talk of the town this summer, delighting Indianapolis Zoo visitors and bringing a bit of the “down under” to Central Indiana. But they’re not permanent residents, so everyone is encouraged to “love ‘em before they leave!”
Two Queensland koalas, native to Australia and on loan from the San Diego Zoo, star at the Indianapolis Zoo, 1200 West Washington Street, beginning Memorial Day weekend, as “Koala presented by Citizens Gas” opens to the public May 24. This very special, limited-time exhibit runs through September 1, 2008. It brings a unique brand of Aussie magic to a new generation of Zoo visitors who may not have been around the last time koalas visited Indianapolis in 1994 (or the time before that, in 1986).
The two koalas are too young to fly alone, so their keeper from San Diego will accompany them, making certain they settle right in to their new exhibit at the Zoo. The young koalas will spend lots of time chilling out on their perches and munching eucalyptus leaves, eliciting lots of “oohs and aahs” from their adoring public.

Memorial Day 08...

DH always decorates the front of our house for Race Day/Memorial Day. Looks kinda festive-don't ya think? The little Tony Kanaan fan got a little disappointed with the race when his guy was involved in a crash. Maybe next year he'll have better luck. It would be nice if his guy could win the Indy 500!

IMS Practice 08...

We took our Grandson to the track a couple of times for practice. We got lucky enough to go to a suite the first time. The second time we went was Armed Forces Day. You wouldn't think a 5 yr. old would be so interested in racing but Pawpaw is making sure he is. I think the race would be a little much for him but when he gets a little older he will be going with Pawpaw. For now he seems quite content going out and watching the cars practice.

Happy Mother's Day 08...

To all the Mom's and Mom's-To-Be. Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Mother's Day holiday, in the United States, celebrates motherhood generally and the positive contributions of mothers to society. It falls on the second Sunday of each May. It is the result of a campaign by Anna Marie Jarvis (1864–1948), who, following the death of her mother on May 9, 1905, devoted her life to establishing Mother's Day as a national, and later an international, holiday.
In 2008, Mother's Day occurs on May 11.

We celebrated yesterday with a cook-out at our daughter and son-in laws house. I received the sweetest little "Grandma's Brag Book" with and ultra-sound picture in it. I'm sure it will fill up quickly once she is here. I also received a lavender reed diffuser, it is so pretty the reeds are twisted and have little cream colored flowers on them and a bag of Maple Nut Goodies. Yum!

NSD 08...

We all started our NSD at the famous Archivers doing Make & Takes and shopping for awhile. I cannot go into that place without buying something. I really need to Scrapbook more and shop less. I guess a girl can never have too many supplies. Anyway when we were all finished shopping we returned to my house to make Baby Shower invitations for my Daughters Baby Shower in July. They went really quick and I think they turned out just GREAT!
